LA SÉRÉNITÉ FACE À L’ADVERSITÉ
Born during her residency in Douarnenez, Brittany, this new series draws inspiration from a landscape shaped by winds, shifting horizons, and the power of the elements. Rather than representing nature, Ana Pérez Grassano absorbs its energy and transforms it into a pictorial language.
Created with oil on translucent alabaster panels, the works are built through successive layers. The material is applied, scraped, and interrupted. Broad lines structure the surface like controlled fractures. This gesture of rupture reveals the luminous depth of the stone.
Light does not illuminate the work; it emanates from it. Filtered through the alabaster, it passes through the layers of paint and reveals an inner depth. In this tension between fracture and diffusion, the artist proposes a vision of serenity as a force of balance in the face of adversity.
«Serenity is not the absence of tension, but the balance found at the very heart of the fracture.»
